CASE STUDY
MULTI-RESIDENTIAL DEVELOPMENT, CANNINGTON
A coordinated steel frame kit across eight dwellings. For Rick Soon.
AN OVERVIEW OF THE PROJECT
On a multi-residential site, the enemy is variation. Eight dwellings, mixed heights, repeated floor plans – if the framing isn’t consistent from unit to unit, every difference becomes a job for someone on site, and the program slips one small delay at a time. For the River Road development in Cannington, Rick Soon needed a framing supplier who could deliver the same accuracy across all eight homes. Techsteel manufactured the lot as one coordinated package.
WHAT THE BUILD DEMANDED
The development comprises eight dwellings, including three three-storey homes and five two-storey homes. A project of this scale placed several key demands on the framing system:
- Consistency across every dwelling: Repeated floor plans rely on consistent manufacturing so each framing system is installed the same way.
- Support for multiple building types: The framing system needed to accommodate both two-storey and three-storey dwellings while maintaining consistent quality across the development.
- Keeping the project on schedule: With multiple dwellings under construction, accurate manufacturing and reliable delivery helped support the overall construction program.
WHAT TECHSTEEL SUPPLIED
Techsteel manufactured and supplied the complete light gauge steel framing system for the development, including:
- Wall framing
- Floor joists
- Roof framing
- Ceiling battens
Every component was manufactured to the approved plans, ensuring consistency across all eight dwellings. The framing systems were manufactured off-site and supplied as complete kits, simplifying delivery and installation throughout the project.
PROJECT OUTCOMES
Consistent installation
Each dwelling received the same accurately manufactured framing system, helping installation remain consistent across the development.
Reduced site waste
Manufacturing the framing systems off-site reduced on-site cutting and material waste while improving installation efficiency.
Supported the construction program
Supplying complete framing kits for each dwelling helped simplify site coordination and keep the project progressing on schedule.
THE RESULT
Techsteel supplied a complete light gauge steel framing system across all eight dwellings, delivering consistent quality throughout the development. Manufacturing the framing systems off-site and supplying complete kits helped simplify installation, reduce site coordination and support an efficient construction program.
