CASE STUDY
DANDENONG PARADE RESIDENCE, CLARKSON
A full steel frame kit for a double-storey home – wall, floor, roof and stairs – engineered to N2 and delivered ready to stand.
AN OVERVIEW OF THE PROJECT
On a double-storey home, every part of the framing system needs to work together. The wall framing, floor structure, roof framing and staircase all need to align to ensure the home can be assembled efficiently and accurately. For the Dandenong Parade residence in Clarkson, Techsteel supplied the complete light gauge steel framing system as a coordinated package, with every component manufactured to integrate with the rest of the build.
WHAT THE BUILD DEMANDED
The home runs to roughly 178 m² across two floors, plus garage and porch. A build like this asks a lot of the framing:
- Everything has to line up: The wall, floor, roof and stair framing all need to align. Every component must be manufactured accurately so the complete framing system fits together as designed.
- It has to meet Wind Category N2: The framing system needs to meet the project’s engineering requirements while supporting the approved home design.
- It has to keep the build on schedule: Residential construction relies on trades working in sequence. If the framing system is delayed or doesn’t install as planned, the trades that follow can also be delayed.
WHAT TECHSTEEL SUPPLIED
We manufactured a complete light gauge steel framing kit for the residence:
- Wall framing, ground and upper floors
- Floor truss framing
- Roof truss framing
- A light gauge steel staircase
Each component was engineered and manufactured to project-specific requirements, ensuring seamless integration between all structural elements. The complete framing package was delivered ready for installation, providing a durable, accurate, and efficient building system.
PROJECT OUTCOMES
Coordinated installation
The wall, floor, roof and stair framing were manufactured as one integrated system, helping installation progress efficiently with minimal on-site adjustments.
Built to the approved design
The framing system was engineered to meet Wind Category N2 while allowing the approved home design to be built as intended, without compromising the layout.
Simplified site coordination
Supplying the complete framing system, including the staircase, reduced the need to coordinate multiple suppliers and helped keep the build progressing on schedule.
THE RESULT
The Dandenong Parade residence received a complete light gauge steel framing system that met the project’s N2 engineering requirements. By supplying the wall, floor, roof and stair framing as one coordinated package, Techsteel helped simplify installation, reduce site coordination and keep the build on schedule.
